Hear: Hear is a verb meaning to perceive with the ear the sound made by (someone or something).
Example : 1. Did you hear him make the announcement?
2. If you are really quiet, you can hear the birds in the distance.
Listen: Listen is a verb that means to give your attention to a sound.
Example: Please listen carefully, we need to listen to the instructions carefully.
Sound: Sound is a noun meaning vibrations that travel through the air or another medium and can be heard when they reach your ear.
Example: Don’t make a sound, we don’t want to scare away the fish.
Noise: This is a noun and is a sound, especially one that is loud or unpleasant or that causes disturbance.
Example: Don’t make any noise! Otherwise you will wake the baby.
Audio: Audio is a noun that is a sound, especially when recorded, transmitted, or reproduced.
Example: The audio setting on the CD player was set too high.
Audible: Audible is an adjective meaning that a sound is able to be heard.
Example: Speak in an audible manner so we can all hear you.
Volume: Volume is a noun and refers to the amount of sound that is produced by a television, radio or stereo.
Example: Please turn down the volume, it is so loud now.
